🔧 Mesa Upgrade: From Development to Validation

The Mesa Upgrade continues to be the primary focus for the Mina ecosystem.

This quarter marked a major milestone with the launch of Mesa Trail, the first public test network designed to simulate the complete upgrade process from Berkeley to Mesa.

Together with 29 community node operators, multiple upgrade scenarios were successfully tested, including Berkeley-to-Mesa upgrades, emergency hard forks, Mesa-to-Mesa upgrades, archive node compatibility, Rosetta integration, load testing, and zkApp validation.

The Mesa Trail network remains live as testing continues with ecosystem partners, exchanges, and staking pool operators ahead of the upcoming Devnet and Mainnet upgrades.

🛠️ Engineering Milestones

Protokit is now live on Devnet: Enabling developers to begin building and testing more complex shared-state, privacy-enabled applications on Mina. This represents another important step toward expanding what’s possible on the network.

Native Prover reached production readiness: o1js 2.15.0 shipped with the Native Prover, which is now stable and production-ready. Developers can benefit from faster proof generation, support for larger circuits, and improved performance without requiring changes to existing circuit code.

🌐 Ecosystem Highlights

Independent teams across the Mina ecosystem have been shipping and building. Here are some of the standout moments from the quarter:

💡 Zeko: Zeko has officially launched on mainnet! Alongside the launch, the team is also developing Santa Clawz, an AI coordination framework designed to enable autonomous agents to operate in real-world environments.

🌉 Nori: Nori has launched the first phase of its Mina-to-Ethereum bridge testnet. The initial release supports one-way bridging, with two-way functionality planned in a future phase.

🎮 zkNoid: Built by zkNoid, Wizard Battle is now live as the first fully verifiable PvP game on Mina’s mainnet, demonstrating how zero knowledge proofs can power competitive gaming.

Ledger: Ledger users can now securely sign zkApp transactions directly from their hardware wallet, bringing another important security milestone to the Mina ecosystem.

🔌 Clorio: WeStake.Club launched Clorio Connect, offering the Mina ecosystem a second browser wallet. Note: Clorio Connect is currently in beta and has not yet undergone a security audit.

🔐 FROST Multisig implementation: The FROST threshold signature wallet implementation is now undergoing audit with Veridise, bringing the project another step closer to production readiness.

In June, the o1Labs team sponsored and attended ETHConf in New York, meeting with builders, investors, institutions, and potential partners while exploring emerging applications for verifiable, auditable, and trust-minimized systems.

Deepthi, o1Labs Co-CEO, also spoke about how zero knowledge technology is evolving beyond privacy and scaling toward powering real-world systems that require accountability and verifiability. These conversations continue to shape our thinking as we explore new opportunities for Mina and ZK technology more broadly. You can find the full talk here
