The Mina Protocol blockchain ecosystem is buzzing with anticipation as several groundbreaking apps and infrastructure projects prepare to launch testing phases this fall. This coordinated beta testing campaign marks a significant milestone in Mina’s journey, showcasing the growing momentum and maturity of the ecosystem.
These innovative infrastructure tools are set to unblock critical barriers for developers, paving the way for an explosion of new zkApps (zero knowledge applications) and increased on-chain activity. As these projects move into user testing, closely followed by audits and mainnet launches, we’re witnessing the dawn of a new era in blockchain technology – one where builders and users no longer have to make difficult tradeoffs between privacy, scalability, and decentralization.
Mina Community, it’s time to help these projects advance towards mainnet by taking part in their user testing programs. More information on each project and their current or upcoming test plans is given below.
Projects Ready to Test
Lumina DEX
Lumina is a zero knowledge, KYC-enabled DEX on Mina. By combining the privacy benefits of zero knowledge proofs with opt-in regulatory compliance through KYC, Lumina is positioning itself as a bridge between traditional finance and decentralized protocols, opening doors for institutional adoption of Mina-based DeFi solutions.
DeFi enthusiasts are invited to test LuminaDEX on Mina Devnet and Zeko Devnet and give feedback in Discord.
Timeline: Now through November 15, 2024
ZkNoid
ZkNoid is creating a home for provably fair gaming on Mina Protocol. The platform allows users to experience cutting-edge games utilizing zero knowledge proofs or build their own using the provided infrastructure. As part of their beta testing phase, ZkNoid is launching the first zkLottery game. This project showcases the potential for trustworthy, scalable, and transparent gaming experiences built on blockchains.
Web3 gamers, ZK enthusiasts, and developers are all invited to try out the zkLottery game, report bugs, and give feedback in Discord.
Timeline: Now through October 28, 2024
ZKON
ZKON is a groundbreaking trustless decentralized Oracle Network, merging Multiparty Computation (MPC) with zero knowledge proofs (ZKPs) and zkTLS technology. This innovative approach allows multiple entities to collaboratively conduct computations and validate data integrity without relying on a centralized authority. ZKON ensures the correctness and privacy of data, enabling smart contracts to securely verify and use information from diverse sources. This strategy significantly enhances the reliability and efficiency of data integration within the Mina ecosystem, empowering developers to unlock the potential of the private data economy.
zkApps and developers are invited to test and integrate ZKON’s oracle. Your feedback is welcome!
Timeline: Now through December 15, 2024
Protokit
Protokit is a revolutionary appchain development framework for privacy enabled application chains on Mina, built on top of o1js. Set to transform the way complex apps are built, Protokit solves concurrency challenges for applications with shared state through a novel hybrid execution model. A new development release will be shared in November, featuring the ability to author custom runtime modules, orchestrate execution with an appchain sequencer, bridge tokens from the L1, and settle transactions to it. This tool promises to dramatically lower the barrier to entry for developers looking to build sophisticated applications on Mina.
Developers are invited to build zkApps using Protokit and give feedback in Discord (#protokit-general).
Timeline: Ongoing
Rust Node
The Rust-based Mina Node is a new, high-performance implementation of the Mina Protocol’s node software, developed to improve efficiency, scalability, and ease of use. Built using Rust, a language known for its memory safety and speed, this node offers a more robust architecture for blockchain activities like transaction validation, block production, and communication within the network. This Rust-based node is currently deployed on Devnet, but there are plans to extend its capabilities to Mina mainnet in the near future.
Experienced node operators are invited to run the Alpha Rust Node on Devnet and give feedback in Discord (#rust-node-testing).

o1js-blobstream
o1js-blobstream introduces a novel implementation technique that lets Mina developers utilize Celestia for data availability. This project is pushing the boundaries of what’s possible on Mina by enabling SP1, RiscZero, and Groth16 proofs to be verified on the protocol. This project could significantly expand the types of applications possible within the Mina ecosystem by introducing tooling for large circuits.
Advanced ZK developers are invited to experiment with the implementation for various use cases, such as data availability and bridging.

About Mina Protocol
Mina is the world’s lightest blockchain, powered by participants. Rather than apply brute computing force, Mina uses advanced cryptography and recursive zk-SNARKs to design an entire blockchain that is about 22kb, the size of a couple of tweets. It is the first layer-1 to enable efficient implementation and easy programmability of zero knowledge smart contracts (zkApps). With its unique privacy features and ability to connect to any website, Mina is building a private gateway between the real world and crypto—and the secure, democratic future we all deserve.
